High Triglycerides is believed to be an important cause of cardiovascular disease that may result in an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and other vascular diseases. Triglycerides are a type of fat in your blood. Northern California Research is conducting a clinical research study designed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the study medication in reducing fat in the blood, and to find the optimal dosing and frequency of this medication.

To qualify for ages 18-49, you MUST have had:

  • A heart attack or stroke greater 3 months ago OR
  • A stent or cardiac bypass OR
  • Peripheral artery disease

To qualify for ages 50-80, you must have:

  • Type 2 Diabetes

AND

Meet one of the following:

  • Current smoker or stopped in the last three months OR
  • High Blood pressure requiring medication OR
  • Have had a heart attack or stroke greater 3 months ago OR
  • Have had a stent or cardiac bypass OR
  • Peripheral artery disease

The trial doctor will review other eligibility criteria with you. This study is 16 months long and includes 25 office visits. All trial-related visits, tests, and medications will be provided to you at no cost. In addition, reimbursement for trial-related time and travel may be provided.
